“The climate for girls and non-binary persons who play games have been tough for many years. This evening is specially arranged to make them feel welcome and find support to test or develop their gaming skills by helping each other. But it´s also about supporting other and give them the confidence to stand up for their rights to be treated with respect as a gamer – irrespective of gender,” says Andreas Jonsson, CEO Escape Gaming in Gävle.

Tilde Byström, professional gamer from Gävle, gave an very inspiring presentation about her life as a gamer and what challenges she meets as a girl in a sport dominated by men. “It's important for me to give inspiration and courage to test e-sport. Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure on the internet,” says Tilde.

“In order to build a future with sustainable and equal societies we need to have an all-inclusive approach. The lack of gender competence in the IT/ICT sector is a risk and could inhibit the development of the smart, sustainable and viable city, Says Anna Fjällström, CEO Future Position X.
